The new Government Office for Digital Transformation

  • Office of the Government of the Republic of Slovenia for Digital Transformation
At its 87th regular session, the Slovenian Government issued the Ordinance on the establishment and competences of the Office of the Government of the Republic of Slovenia for Digital Transformation.

"Today is a good day for Slovenia. We finally have a government office in charge of Slovenia's digital transformation. Unfortunately, Slovenia lags behind most European countries in this field. This is unacceptable. It is good that we want to be among the best and I believe we will get there. We know what we need to do. The Strategic Council for Digitalisation recently presented 40 measures for the digitalisation of public administration, healthcare, the economy and education with the aim of simplifying people's lives and the operation of businesses. We will particularly focus on the digital inclusion of vulnerable groups, the return of Slovenian professionals from abroad and strengthening cybersecurity. I will work to make digital transformation our new favourite national preoccupation. Something that connects, unites and inspires. Slovenians can become European digital champions, but only if we stick together. We have it in us. Let's move boldly forward."
