Prime Minister Janez Janša and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen attend the ceremony marking the start of the Slovenian Presidency of the Council of the EU on Bled Island

Today, Prime Minister Janez Janša and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen attended the ceremony marking the start of Slovenian Presidency of the Council of the EU – the ballet performance Water Man (Povodni mož), choreographed by Edward Clug, on Bled Island.

The performance was staged by the ballet ensemble of the Slovenian National Theatre Maribor. The premiere of the Water Man ballet simultaneously represented the theatrical initiation of Bled Island, as it has never before been the venue for a theatrical, dance or musical performance.

The performance was also attended by the College of Commissioner and State Secretaries of the Government of the Republic of Slovenia as well as other distinguished guests.
