Prime Minister Janez Janša discusses preparations for the Conference on the Future of Europe

Prime Minister Janez Janša today continued the discussion about fundamental challenges and key issues of the future of Europe that had begun on 5 March. The Conference on the Future of Europe, whose content is already being addressed by the Portuguese Presidency, will be one of the responsibilities of the Slovenian Presidency of the Council of the EU as well.

In Brdo pri Kranju, Prime Minister Janez Janša today met with the President of the Republic, Borut Pahor, and his advisor Ernest Petrič, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Anže Logar, the State Secretary at the Office of the Prime Minister, Igor Senčar, the State Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs,  Gašper Dovžan, and Žiga Turk, Miha Pogačnik, Lojze Peterle, Dimitrij Rupel, Matej Avbelj and Peter Jambrek. At the meeting on 5 March, they had exchanged views and experience as well as formulated the proposals for Slovenia's points on the Conference on the Future of Europe.

The purpose of today’s meeting was to continue the preparations for leading the Conference of the Future of Europe in the second half of 2021. “We will make sure that this will not be a boring waste of opportunities. Although there are many challenges, we have answers, too,” wrote Prime Minister Janez Janša on Twitter.
