EU funding for social services and intergenerational cooperation in Brežice and Krško

Government Office for Development and European Cohesion Policy has issued a financial support decision for the project “Network of social services and intergenerational cooperation”. The project worth EUR 855,000 will be implemented by the Municipality Brežice and the Municipality Krško and will receive EUR 280,000 of European Regional Development Fund support.
As part of the project, the two municipalities will establish premises that will enable deinstitutionalisation for various groups of people in need of help and care.
In Brežice, the premises of the former Brežice Retirement Home will be renovated, and a housing unit and areas for temporary accommodation will be established. People with mental and physical disabilities will thus be given greater independence.
In Krško, purchase and renovation of premises is planned, as well as the establishment of a specialised day centre for the elderly suffering from dementia and other age-related problems that make it impossible for them to lead an independent life.
