  • Ministry of Foreign Affairs
Today, Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr Anže Logar participated in a video conference with members of the Slovenian Government and representatives of the OECD. The Slovenian delegation included Minister of Finance Andrej Šircelj, State Secretary at the Ministry of Health Tina Bregant and State Secretary at the Ministry of Labour, Family, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities Mateja Ribič. The OECD delegation was headed by Secretary-General Ángel Gurría.

In his opening address, Minister Logar stressed the role of the OECD in Slovenia’s progress achieved during its membership: in July, Slovenia will mark the 10th anniversary of joining the OECD.

The aim of the conference was to review Slovenia’s cooperation with the Organisation and to present the measures it has adopted to offset the crisis. The OECD delegation positively assessed the early measures taken by Slovenia to curb the infection and protect jobs. Secretary-General Gurría commended the Covid-19 testing strategy, which enabled Slovenia to promptly limit the spread of the virus.

The OECD offered assistance in the form of expert analyses and recommendations it has been drafting as a matter of priority to help its member states design post-Covid-19 measures. The two delegations also discussed the economic recovery in the international setting.
