A resident of Slovenia consumed on average 152 kg of fruit in 2018. The self-sufficiency in fruit was 47%. Precise data on self-sufficiency in cherries are not available, but there are some other data related to them.

In 2019, cherry producers in Slovenia produced less cherries than a year earlier, but it should be taken into account that the 2018 harvest was well above average. In orchard plantations 683 tons were produced and in extensive orchards 2,161 tons were produced in 2019.
