Prime Minister Janez Janša talks with President of the European Commission and Secretary-General of NATO

This morning, Prime Minister Janez Janša spoke with President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen over the phone. Their discussion was very substantive and constructive. They talked about the proposals for the next EU budget and the recovery fund in response to the coronavirus epidemic.

Mr Janša and Ms von der Leyen also discussed the new priorities of the Germany-Portugal-Slovenia trio for the presidency of the Council of the EU and the fight against the epidemic.

In the afternoon, Prime Minister also spoke with the Secretary General of NATO Jens Stoltenberg. In their discussion, Mr Janša and Mr Stoltenberg highlighted the priorities of the alliance. They also touched upon joint missions around the world, the unfulfilled promises of previous governments and Slovenia's plans to strengthen its defence capacity and credibility.
