As the Prime Minister pointed out in the margins of his visit, the University Medical Centre Maribor is proving that "we can do it".  According to him, the UMC Director Dr Vojko Flis, the hospital's Medical Director Dr Matjaz Vogrin and their teams have been successfully dealing with the most complex situation caused by the coronavirus epidemic in Maribor and in the region since the first outbreak.  The same is true for the city of Maribor.

"Thanks to our doctors and those managers of healthcare institutions who had the wisdom, knowledge and courage, and were more far-sighted than the people at the top, it was easier to manage the first stage of the coronavirus epidemic.  At the UMC Maribor, measures were already put in place on 7 February 2020," said Prime Minister Janez Janša, congratulating and  thanking all the doctors and nurses.
