Meeting between State Secretary Leskovar and US Deputy Assistant Secretary Boyse
State Secretary Simona Leskovar and Deputy Assistant Secretary for Central Europe and Holocaust Issues Matthew G. Boyse confirmed the interest in strengthening cooperation between Slovenia and the United States and exchanged positions on topical regional and international issues.
State Secretary Leskovar and Deputy Assistant Secretary Boyse examined which areas of the already excellent cooperation between the two allies could be further developed. They advocated the organisation of mutual visits at the highest political level, pointed out the importance of close transatlantic cooperation in the context of current challenges facing the international community and addressed certain specific points relating to the future of Europe and the Western Balkans. They noted the ongoing cooperation within the Three Seas Initiative.
State Secretary Leskovar presented the Young Women Ambassadors project carried out by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in collaboration with women ambassadors accredited to Slovenia and aimed at promoting the role and activities of women in international affairs. Upon the conclusion of the meeting, Deputy Assistant Secretary Boyse greeted the students participating in the project, wishing them success in their future endeavours.
