In his opening speech at the #Disinfo2025, Vojko Volk said that we are living in a very complicated and difficult time of disinformation. The State Secretary for National and International Security at the Office of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia stressed that every day we are fighting disinformation, which is attacking our values.

On 23 October 2025, Slovenia will present a remarkable story of integrating culture, economy and foreign policy in Vienna, one of the world's most important centres of diplomacy. Under the honorary patronage of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, Tanja Fajon, the famous Wiener Konzerthaus will host a performance of the musical Peace Child, organised to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the United Nations.

In March of this year, the Government adopted a decision endorsing Slovenia’s candidacy for membership in the UNESCO World Heritage Committee for the 2025–2027 term. Slovenia presented its candidacy in cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia in Paris, which is also accredited as Slovenia’s Permanent Delegation to UNESCO, during the 47th session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee.

On 4 July 2025, Minister of Culture Asta Vrečko officially opened the Rural Transport Museum in Senožeče. The renovation of the old toll house and Kotlar House cost EUR 2.9 million.

Minister Asta Vrečko opens renovated Štanjel Castle and the Museum of Slovenian Language and Books
Yesterday, Minister of Culture Asta Vrečko officially opened Štanjel Castle, which has been completely renovated after many decades. The Ministry of Culture has allocated EUR 2.3 million for the final phase of the renovation.

For the first time Slovenia holds the presidency of the informal group of the EU Mediterranean countries - MED9
During its presidency of MED9, Slovenia will focus on strengthening Europe's resilience and competitiveness, youth empowerment and capacity-building in higher education, digitalisation and culture as well as the EU enlargement and other foreign policy issues. A number of events will be organised during the Presidency, which you can follow on the dedicated MED9 website.
