Ministry of Foreign Affairs Travel Advice: COVID-19
As the probability of infection with COVID-19 remains present, Slovenian citizens wishing to travel abroad are advised to follow the news on the spread of the virus, especially on the planned route, to check the conditions of entry into the country of destination, and to comply with local rules. Slovenian citizens returning from abroad are advised to follow the recommendations of the National Institute of Public Health (NIJZ).
Visa requirement for entering Slovenia
Citizens of Kosovo need a short-stay visa (Visa C) for short-term visits to the Schengen Area.
Slovenia is outsourcing the submission for short-stay Schengen visa applications in Kosovo. Slovenian Visa Application Centre operated by VFS Global in Prishtina is open from Monday, 19th November 2018 and is taking short-stay Schengen visa applications for Slovenia and Latvia.
Slovenian Visa Application Centre operated by VFS Global is located at Str. Rrustem Statovci No 36, 10000 in Pristina, Kosovo. Submission of applications is possible between 09:00 -16:00 (Monday-Friday) - except Kosovo's public holidays.
When applying at Slovenian Visa Application Centre operated by VFS Global no appointment is needed.
The following groups are able to submit short-stay Schengen visa application (with the beforehand booked appointment by email to sloembassy.pristina(at)gov.si) at the Consular Department of the Embassy of Slovenia:
• Holders of diplomatic and service passports;
• Family members of EU and Swiss citizens covered by the Directive 2004/38/EC.
The Consular Department of the Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia has premises at Rr. Anton Cetta 6 in Pristina. Working hours of the Consular Department are from Monday to Thursday, between 9.30 am to 12:00 and between 14:00 and 15:00.
The processing time of the visa application take up to 15 calendar days after all the required documents have been submitted. Normal processing time of the visa application is 10 calendar days.
If applying at VFS there is a service charge of 20 euros (inclusive of VAT) levied per application in addition to the visa fees. The visa fee is charged when the application is submitted. If you withdraw the application or if a visa is refused, the fee will not be reimbursed.
During the examination of an application Slovenian Embassy may, in justified cases, call the applicant for an interview and request additional documents.
In the event of an emergency (death, an accident involving a family member, etc.) and you urgently need to travel as soon as possible, please contact the Embassy of Slovenia by phone or email to make the necessary arrangements to facilitate your visa application process.

Applications for residence permits and applications for national (long-term) visas D are not accepted at the Slovenian Visa Center operated by VFS Global. The Consular Department of the Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia in Kosovo accepts applications for residence permits and applications for national (long-term) visas D during working hours of the Consular Department.
All application forms are free of charge and are available in the Consular Department of the Slovenian Embassy and in the Slovenian Visa Application Centre operated by VFS Global.
Consular fees at the Consular Department of the Slovenian Embassy can be paid by bank transfer or via bank/credit card payment. The Embassy does not accept cash. Payment of the fees at the Slovenian Visa Application Centre operated by VFS Global is possible in cash bank/credit card. Any additional payments for any kind of mediation or the promise that a visa or permit will be issued are not permitted.
