At the Information Society Directorate, we promote the development of an advanced and inclusive digital society. We are implementing measures to develop the digital infrastructure and digital connectivity in the territory of the Republic of Slovenia and the digital inclusion of the population of the Republic of Slovenia. We promote the safe use of digital technologies and strengthen the enabling environment for advanced digital technologies.

It coordinates the implementation of measures to promote the overall digitalisation of society at the inter-ministerial and inter-sectoral levels, coordinating with external stakeholders from the business sector and non-governmental organisations and stakeholders from the fields of education and research through the Slovenian Digital Coalition. Within the scope of its work, the Directorate represents the Republic of Slovenia in international organisations, such as EU (European Union), OECD (Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development), ITU (International Telecommunication Union), ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers - the organisation responsible for adding and registering domain names), IGF (Internet Governance Forum), Eutelsat (European Conference of Postal and Telecommunications Administrations and the European Telecommunications Satellite Organization ). It is responsible for the supervision of providers of electronic trust services and, in the field of electronic communications and radio spectrum management, for the Agency for Communication Networks and Services of the Republic of Slovenia.
