Polona Rifelj

Polona Rifelj (born on 30 August 1973) holds a master's degree in political science and is a graduate in communication studies and economics. She continuously expands her knowledge, including in the field of financial forensics, and also holds a licence to serve on supervisory boards.
She has more than 20 years of managerial and executive experience in the fields of finance, law, corporate governance, and the public sector. She gained her professional expertise in senior positions in the private sector, state administration and local self-government. Among other roles, she served as State Secretary at the Ministry of Economic Development and Technology and headed financial and legal functions in the private sector. Prior to her appointment, she served as a holder of procuration at Nigrad, d. o. o.
Due to her many years of experience in senior positions in both the public and private sectors, she is well acquainted with the issues and specific challenges faced by businesses in the areas of environmental legislation and sustainable development.
She has a strong understanding of the administrative barriers faced by companies and investors, and operational expertise in budget management, process optimisation and the management of complex investment projects.
