Iztok Slatinšek

Iztok Slatinšek holds a university degree in geodesy and has over 40 years of experience in geodesy, geo-information systems, spatial and environmental management. He graduated from the Faculty of Civil and Geodetic Engineering at the University of Ljubljana.
Throughout his career, he has held numerous leadership and expert positions in both the public and private sectors. He served as Director-General of the Slovenian Environment Agency (ARSO) and as Director-General of the Environment Directorate at the Ministry of the Environment, among other roles. He also worked as a director and licensed geodetic engineer for many years, contributing to the development of modern geo-information systems, environmental monitoring and the management of watercourses and associated land.
He has received awards from the Slovenian Chamber of Engineers and the Association of Surveyors of Slovenia in recognition of his contributions to the development and introduction of new technologies in geodesy, and for his work conducting hydrographic surveys of rivers and engineering structures.
