Vesna Marinko
Vesna Marinko holds a master's degree in public administration. She graduated from the Administrative College of the University of Ljubljana in 2004 and obtained her master's degree from the Faculty of Public Administration of the University of Ljubljana in 2013.
She has worked in public administration for more than twenty years in the fields of public health, health security, and traffic safety and prevention. From 2010 to 2020, she was employed at the Slovenian Traffic Safety Agency, where she, among other roles, served as Acting Director and Head of the Traffic Safety Development and Coordination Division.
Since 2023, she has served as Director-General of the Public Health Directorate at the Ministry of Health. Prior to that, she headed the Health Promotion and Addiction Prevention Division. She has contributed to the preparation and implementation of numerous national programmes, strategies and legislative solutions in the field of public health, and has represented the Republic of Slovenia in European and international institutions.
In her work, she places particular emphasis on strengthening public health and health security, preventing disease, reducing health inequalities and developing preventive programmes to improve population health.
