Open Science Division

The Open Science Division and the Research Organisations and Infrastructure Division are responsible for tasks in the areas of open science, the operation of public research and public infrastructure institutions, and research infrastructures. We are involved in the development of strategic national policy documents in the field of research and innovation. We are also responsible for the implementation of the Research Infrastructure Development Plan 2030 (NRRI 2030) and the Action Plan for Open Science for the implementation of Measure 6.2, “Open Science to improve the quality, efficiency and responsiveness of research”, under the Resolution on the Scientific Research and Innovation Strategy of Slovenia 2030 (ReZrIS30).

We contribute to the preparation of legislation and implementing regulations in the field of research and innovation, particularly in the areas of open science, research infrastructures, and the operation of public research and public infrastructure institutions. We are responsible for the development and funding of national research digital infrastructures and for their integration into the European and global research landscape. We monitor and facilitate the operation of public research organisations.

We contribute to shaping the national and European Research Area (ERA) in the fields of research infrastructures and open science. In this context, we are also actively involved in the development of the European Strategy Forum on Research Infrastructures (ESFRI) and the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC).
