Valentin Hajdinjak
Valentin Hajdinjak (born on 6 December 1973) graduated from the School of Economics and Business of the University of Ljubljana and continued his postgraduate studies at the Faculty of Management at the University of Primorska, where he obtained a master’s degree in management.
Between 1994 and 2000, he served as spokesperson for the Slovenian Christian Democrats, after which he became a public relations officer at the Office of the Prime Minister during the Government of Dr Andrej Bajuk. In March 2002, he joined the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Food, first as a public relations officer and later as Head of the Public Relations and Promotion Office. In December 2004, he became Head of the Office of the Minister of Labour, Family and Social Affairs. Between 2005 and 2008, he served as spokesperson for the Government of the Republic of Slovenia, before assuming the position of Head of the Public Relations Department at the Medical Chamber of Slovenia in 2009. In February 2012, he joined the Ministry of Defence as Head of the Minister's Office, and later also worked in the Intelligence and Security Service and the Logistics Directorate. In August 2015, he started working at the T-2 telecommunications corporation, where he headed the company Hipofiza. In 2018, he also assumed responsibility for corporate communications at T-2. In July 2020, the Supervisory Board of the Motorway Company of the Republic of Slovenia (DARS) appointed him President of the Management Board, a position he held until November 2023. Since then, he has worked as a sole trader and also runs his own business consulting firm.
Between 1993 and 1994, he was a student representative on the Council of the Minister of Foreign Affairs. Between 1995 and 1997, he served as a member of the Executive Board of the European Young Christian Democrats (EYCD) and as their representative in the European Coordination Bureau of International Youth Organisations in Brussels. In 1995, he became the first representative of European youth organisations from Eastern Europe to be elected to the Administrative and Advisory Committee for European Youth Centres and the European Youth Foundation with the Council of Europe in Strasbourg.
Among other roles, he served as a member of the Coordinating Committee for State Celebrations, a member of the Board of ITF Enhancing Human Security, Vice-President of the Supervisory Board and Chair of the Audit Committee at Eles and President of the Supervisory Board at Thermana. In 2006, he was one of the founding members of the European Association of Communication Directors (EACD).
