Cohesion Policy Office

The Cohesion Policy Office is responsible for the effective and regular management of Cohesion Policy "Investment for Growth and Jobs" goal in Slovenia. It is responsible for establishing the implementation system, and for preparing and coordinating the relevant implementing documents. The Office decides on the co-financing of individual calls for proposals, projects or programmes on the basis of the applications prepared by the ministries and the Association of Urban Municipalities of Slovenia that act as intermediate bodies.

It participates in the negotiations on the legislative framework and in the preparation and coordination of the programming documents for a programming period. It also coordinates the drafting of annual reports on the implementation of the Operational Programme for the Implementation of the EU Cohesion Policy in the Period 2014–2020 which are submitted to the European Commission. It steers the work of the Monitoring Committee and prepares the materials for monitoring the quality of operational programme implementation. It monitors and oversees the implementation of Cohesion Policy at the ministries, government offices and other bodies. It provides guidelines for Cohesion Policy implementation to ensure consistency and regularity. It also provides appropriate information support to Cohesion Policy implementation. It participates in the establishment and operation of an electronic data transmission system between the information systems supporting Cohesion Policy implementation (e-MA, MFERAC and e-CA) which are needed for the monitoring, evaluation, financial management, verification and control of project implementation. It is responsible for the smooth functioning of the basic infrastructure for the e-MA information system. It prepares quarterly reports on the use of Cohesion Policy funds which are sent to the Government and the relevant committee of the National Assembly.
