We coordinate the operation of regional development institutions at the level of development regions, i.e. 12 development councils of regions, councils of regions and regional development agencies.

We also take care of the implementation of development support programmes and measures in priority areas of regional policy. These are border problem areas, problem areas with high unemployment, and areas where the Hungarian and Italian national communities live.

We keep records of regional development agencies and provide support for the operation of the Development Council of the Cohesion Region of Eastern Slovenia and the Development Council of the Cohesion Region of Western Slovenia.

With the vision of implementing regionalism, we realise the set goals and formulate a regional policy.
