Control and Evaluation Division is responsible for control in the scope of the implementation of Cohesion Policy and other financial mechanisms. It carries out administrative and on-the-sport verifications to check the eligibility of expenditure incurred by beneficiaries under projects and programmes, and to verify compliance with EU rules, programme rules and national rules. It also carries out verifications to ensure that double funding has been avoided.

Objective 1 (‘Investment for Growth and Jobs’ goal) Control Section is responsible for ensuring effective and efficient day-to-day, first-level controls in the scope of the Operational Programme for the Implementation of the European Cohesion Policy for the Period 2014-2020. It monitors and controls how verifications are carried out by the ministries involved in the implementation of Cohesion Policy.

Objective 2 (‘European Territorial Cooperation’) Control Section is responsible for carrying out first-level control of Slovenian beneficiaries under the European Territorial Cooperation programmes, the Norwegian Financial Mechanism programmes and the EEA Financial Mechanism programmes.
