The Director-General of the Slovenian Prison Administration and a representative of the General Office for International Cooperation participated in Kraków at the EuroPris Annual General Meeting and at the 30th Council of Europe Conference of Directors of Prison and Probation Services.

In mid-February 2025, the General Office of the Slovenian Prison Administration held an official handover between the new Director-General, Denis Perše, who has taken up the office on 15 February 2025, and the former Head of the Office, mag. Bojan Majcen, who became Deputy Director-General on the same day.

Today, at the 48th session of the Working Group of the United Nations (UN) Human Rights Council, Slovenia presented the state of human rights in Slovenia within the framework of the 4th round of the Universal Periodic Review. The Slovenian delegation, which included representatives of several ministries and government offices, was led by Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Tanja Fajon.

The Ministry of Cohesion and Regional Development has approved EU funding for the project Enhancing the competencies of all employees in the prison system. The European Social Fund Plus contribution stands at €994,200.

International Visits to Prisons: Exchange of Knowledge and Praise for Professional and Humane Approach
The Slovenian Prison Administration hosted two professional delegations from abroad – one from the United States of America and one from France. These visits, which took place at several prison facilities across Slovenia, were the result of close cooperation with relevant domestic and international institutions. Their purpose was to foster professional dialogue, gain insight into the prison and probation systems, and exchange good practices.
