Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs Travel Advice: COVID-19

As the probability of infection with COVID-19 remains present, Slovenian citizens wishing to travel abroad are advised to follow the news on the spread of the virus, especially on the planned route, to check the conditions of entry into the country of destination, and to comply with local rules. Slovenian citizens returning from abroad are advised to follow the recommendations of the National Institute of Public Health (NIJZ).

The Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia in Canberra represents the Republic of Slovenia in Australia and other countries of accreditation, protects and realizes the interests of the Republic of Slovenia, its citizens and legal entities, and promotes and develops friendly relations and cooperation between the countries in all fields.

The relations between Slovenia and Australia respectively are good and friendly. Australia was among the first non-European countries to recognize the independent Republic of Slovenia. Its recognition came on 16 January 1992, only one day after the European Union recognized the new country. Diplomatic relations with Australia were established on 5 February 1992.
