Please note that this website is still under construction and that some of its contents may be incomplete. Thank you for your understanding.
VIS is a joint visa information system of the Schengen States, which was launched on 11 October 2011. The system is intended to make visa procedures faster and safer. This means that the mission processing the application has to collect all 10 fingerprints, based on Regulation (EC) No 810/2009 and Regulation (EC) 767/2008. The fingerprints will be kept for 5 years on a joint server of Member States in Strasbourg.
Any person has the right to access, change or delete their data from the VIS. Fill out the form below and send it to the address provided in the form.
More information about VIS is available on the European Commission website. Information on supervision of the processing of personal data in the VIS is available on the website of the Information Commissioner.
