Publication of Beneficiaries from European Agricultural Funds
The purpose of publishing information on beneficiaries of agricultural funds is to ensure transparency, efficiency, and accountability in the use of public funds allocated under the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP). Publication enables public scrutiny of who receives funding, in what amounts, and for what purposes, thereby strengthening public trust in the management and oversight of these funds and helping to prevent irregularities or misuse.
The legal basis for the publication of beneficiaries under the Common Agricultural Policy 2023–2027 is laid down in Regulation (EU) 2021/2116 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 2 December 2021 on the financing, management and monitoring of the Common Agricultural Policy. In particular, Article 98 requires Member States to publish annually information on beneficiaries receiving support from the European Agricultural Guarantee Fund (EAGF) and the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD).
These measures are also consistent with the principles of good administration set out in the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union and contribute to the prevention of fraud and the improvement of the effectiveness of EU policies.
