To better protect people and property in the event of natural and other disasters in Slovenia, a public warning and alerting system called SI-ALARM, known internationally as SI-ALERT, is being established. It will disseminate alert notifications and allow emergency messages to be sent rapidly in the form of so-called push messages to mobile phones of users located within a defined geographical area.

Slovenia reintroduced temporary control on the internal Schengen border with Croatia and Hungary on 21 October 2023 as a temporary measure. The Slovenian government decided o lift the checks on the internal Schengen border on 11th June 2026 at midnight.

The vision of the project for the overhaul and optimisation of the state administration authorities websites is to have a uniformly organised and seamlessly functioning state administration web service to provide users with easy and fast access to comprehensive, up-to-date and credible presentational information about the state and state-related procedures, together with easy-to-use state administration e-services via a single point.
