State Election Commission

The State Election Commission carries out, supervises and coordinates electoral procedures, thereby ensuring the legitimacy of elections in the Republic of Slovenia and individuals’ right to vote. It also ensures that ballots are held at diplomatic missions and consular posts of the Republic of Slovenia.

As the highest electoral authority, it appoints members of electoral commissions, coordinates and supervises their work, and gives them instructions for the implementation of electoral legislation.

The State Election Commission defines the forms to be used in the implementation of elections acts, uniform standards for election materials and other material conditions for the holding of elections.

The State Election Commission is appointed by the National Assembly and has a chairman, five members and their substitutes.
