Following Slovenian-Uzbek Commission inaugural meeting, Minister Fajon highlights opportunities for enhanced cooperation
Minister Tanja Fajon hosted Laziz Kudratov, Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan, to discuss the deepening of economic cooperation and identifying practical opportunities to expand bilateral trade. Both ministers underlined that the first meeting of the Joint Slovenian-Uzbek Commission on Economic Cooperation reflects the successful high-level engagement between the two countries in recent years.

15th meeting of the Slovenian-Chinese Joint Commission for Economic Cooperation
Peter Japelj, Director-General of the Directorate for Economic, Cultural and Scientific Diplomacy at the Slovenian Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, co-chaired the 15th meeting of the Slovenian-Chinese Joint Commission for Economic Cooperation in Shanghai. On the Chinese side, the meeting was co-chaired by Yu Yuantang, Director General of the European Affairs Department at China’s Ministry of Commerce.

Minister Fajon: Bavaria accounts for 20 per cent of Slovenia's total trade with Germany
During the visit of the Bavarian State Minister for European and International Affairs, Eric Beißwenger, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Tanja Fajon welcomed the continued strengthening of relations between Slovenia and Bavaria. She encouraged further Bavarian investment in Slovenia, particularly in high-value sectors. The two Ministers also discussed the importance of EU enlargement to include the Western Balkans.

New impetus for Slovenian-Bavarian cooperation on the 50th anniversary of the Mixed Commission
At the 34th session of the Permanent Slovenian-Bavarian Mixed Commission, the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, Tanja Fajon, and the Bavarian State Minister for European and International Relations, Eric Beißvenger, signed a joint declaration. Minister Fajon in Tokyo on strengthening economic ties with Japan and efforts to achieve peace in the Middle East
Minister Tanja Fajon is visiting Japan with a strong economic delegation. Japan is Slovenia's key economic partner and the largest Asian investor in the country. While in Tokyo, Minister Fajon opened the Slovenia-Japan Business Forum, an event intended to strengthen ties between companies in both countries. She also met with Minister of Foreign Affairs Takeshi Iwaya and Minister of State for Economic Security Minoru Kiuchi.

State Secretary Marko Štucin held political consultations with Turkmen Deputy Foreign Minister Myakhri Hodjamgulyevna Byashimova in Ashgabat. They reviewed bilateral cooperation and called for a strengthening of economic cooperation.

Minister Fajon on the 40th anniversary of the Schengen Agreement: Despite the challenges, we remain a strong advocate of open borders within the EU
On Saturday, 14 June 2025, Minister Tanja Fajon attended a celebration marking the 40th anniversary of the Schengen Agreement, at the invitation of Luxembourg’s Minister for Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Xavier Bettel. The agreement was signed in Luxembourg on 14 June 1985. The Schengen area currently comprises 29 countries, four of which are non-EU members.

Fourth national conference on artificial intelligence
The conference titled “Artificial intelligence - new trends in development and challenges for Slovenia" was held at Jablje Castle. The focus was on the rapidly developing trends and complex challenges that position artificial intelligence (AI) in all societal domains – from public administration and the economy to education, new models of behaviour and organisation, as well as current issues of ethical use, hybrid protection, security and defence.

Minister Fajon concludes Slovenia's first official visit to the Philippines
Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Tanja Fajon concluded a two-day official visit to Manila, the first visit by a Slovenian foreign minister to the country. On the second day, she was received by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. She also addressed the participants of the Slovenia-Philippines Business Forum and held a lecture and discussion with the students of the Far Eastern University.
