Following Slovenian-Uzbek Commission inaugural meeting, Minister Fajon highlights opportunities for enhanced cooperation
Minister Tanja Fajon hosted Laziz Kudratov, Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan, to discuss the deepening of economic cooperation and identifying practical opportunities to expand bilateral trade. Both ministers underlined that the first meeting of the Joint Slovenian-Uzbek Commission on Economic Cooperation reflects the successful high-level engagement between the two countries in recent years.

Political consultations with Uzbekistan: Slovenia seeks to strengthen diplomatic presence in Central Asia
State Secretary Dr Melita Gabrič held political consultations in Bled with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Muzaffarbek Madrakhimov. These consultations followed the successful visit of Uzbekistan's President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, who came to Slovenia in May this year with a large economic delegation.

State Secretary Štucin in Tashkent expresses interest in strengthening political dialogue with Uzbekistan
State Secretary Marko Štucin held political consultations in Tashkent with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, Muzaffarbek Anvarbekovich. The two officials reviewed bilateral cooperation and committed to strengthening economic cooperation, in line with the 2023 economic cooperation agreement.

Minister Fajon at the EU Council calls for a humanitarian ceasefire in the Middle East
Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Tanja Fajon took part in the EU Foreign Affairs Council in Luxembourg. The meeting focused on the situation in Israel and the region, as well as on the Russian aggression against Ukraine. This was followed by an EU-Central Asia ministerial meeting, which was held together with the foreign ministers of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.

Minister Fajon signs economic cooperation agreement with Uzbekistan in Tashkent
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Tanja Fajon is on a working visit to the Republic of Uzbekistan. She is accompanied by a business delegation composed of representatives of twelve Slovenian companies and of the Slovenian agency SPIRIT.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Tanja Fajon attended the 29th Ministerial Council of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe in Łódź, Poland, where foreign ministers discussed the war in Ukraine and the current situation within the OSCE.
