At the beginning of 2026, Slovenia entered the final year of implementation of the Recovery and Resilience Plan (RRP). With the support of funding from the Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF) under NextGenerationEU, ministries and their stakeholders have already successfully completed a significant number of reforms, as well as several investments. This edition presents the results and impact of measures aimed at strengthening the labour market.

Today, the European Commission issued a positive preliminary assessment of Slovenia’s fifth payment request for funding under the Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF) of NextGenerationEU. Slovenia is expected to receive the payment next month, estimated at EUR 230 million. Following the disbursement, the utilisation of the funds available to Slovenia under the Facility will exceed 80 per cent.

At its session today, the Government approved a proposal for the fifth amendment to the Recovery and Resilience Plan (RRP). It tasked the Office of the Republic of Slovenia for Recovery and Resilience with submitting the amendment to the European Commission in Brussels, together with the relevant supporting documentation.

The Republic of Slovenia's Recovery and Resilience Office has submitted its fifth request to the European Commission (EC) for the payment of funds from the Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF), with a total gross value of EUR 266.84 million.

Today, the Government took note of the Information on the Implementation of the Recovery and Resilience Plan (RRP), which will be submitted to the National Assembly of the Republic of Slovenia. The Government also discussed the Report on the Implementation of the Recovery and Resilience Plan before submitting the fifth payment request.

The Council of the European Union, meeting in the composition of Finance Ministers, today approved the fourth amendment to Slovenia's Recovery and Resilience Plan. A total of EUR 2.14 billion from the Recovery and Resilience Facility is now available for its implementation, of which EUR 526 million in loans (previously EUR 613 million) and an unchanged amount of grants worth EUR 1.61 billion.

Today, the European Commission paid €440 million to Slovenia on the basis of the fourth payment request under the Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF). "Slovenia has met all the milestones and targets linked to the fourth payment request and has therefore received the maximum possible disbursement," said Finance Minister Klemen Boštjančič upon the inflow of funds.

Minister Simon Maljevac attended today's ceremony marking the opening of seven new public rental housing units in Tolmin. These were built with the help of funds from the Recovery and Resilience Plan in the amount of EUR 614,000, provided by the Ministry of a Solidarity-Based Future. The cost of renovating the building, which also houses a museum depot, is approximately EUR 1.2 million.

The Council of the European Union approved the national recovery and resilience plans at the end of July 2021. The ministries responsible for implementing the reforms and investments in the plan have successfully carried out numerous activities to achieve this. Significant progress has been made this year on the most visible reform measures. The investments under the plan are being implemented by stakeholders in all Slovenian regions.
