At today’s press conference, Prime Minister Dr Robert Golob and Deputy Prime Ministers Luka Mesec, Klemen Boštjančič and Matej Arčon reviewed the past term of office. They stressed that, after four years and despite uncertain geopolitical circumstances, Slovenia is a more stable, safer and developmentally stronger country than it was at the beginning of the term. They also highlighted concrete results: preserved public finances, higher wages and pensions, low unemployment, and increased investment in infrastructure, science, development, housing, resilience and local projects.

203rd Regular Session of the Government of the Republic of Slovenia
At today’s session, the Government adopted an implementation programme for achieving Slovenia’s development goals through investments in science and innovation, as well as amendments to the regulation on inspections, cleaning and measurements on small combustion plants. It also adopted a decision to include the new project BUILD – CitiVERSE – Local Digital Twins in the current Development Programmes Plan 2026–2029.

202nd regular session of the Government of the Republic of Slovenia
At today’s session, the Government of the Republic of Slovenia reallocated expenditure rights with the aim of improving the general government balance by €133 million. It extended temporary reintroduced controls at the borders with Croatia and Hungary until 21 December 2026 and included the project Battery electricity storage systems – companies in the Development Programmes Plan 2026–2029.

According to official data from the Statistical Office of the Republic of Slovenia, Slovenia recorded year-on-year economic growth of 3% in the first quarter of this year. Minister of Finance Klemen Boštjančič emphasised that the figures clearly demonstrate the resilience of the Slovenian economy and counter forecasts of economic stagnation or decline.

201st Regular Session of the Government of the Republic of Slovenia
At today’s session, the Government defined measures to improve the general government balance and took note of the report on the situation at worksites on Slovenian motorways and expressways. It adopted amendments to the programme for the use of Climate Fund resources, thereby providing companies with an additional €10 million, and set the funding for incentives for electro-intensive companies at €30 million for 2026.

200th regular session of the Government of the Republic of Slovenia
At today's session, the Government added the final piece to the double-track Divača–Koper railway line's mosaic by adopting an investment programme for a third track and including an Investment in a new construction and Palfinger machinery project in the 2026–2029 Development Programme Plan. It also adopted amendments to the Decree on the method of remitting personal income tax to municipalities, thereby easing pressure on municipal budgets during the annual holiday allowance payment period.

199th regular session of the Government of the Republic of Slovenia
At today’s session, the Government adopted the Decree on concessions for the construction of new cableway installations at Kanin, which will contribute to the further development of tourism in the area. It also approved amendments to the Act on Remedying the Consequences of Work with Asbestos, took note of the Development Report 2026 and the progress in preparing the Annual Progress Report 2026, and issued the Decree on the determination of psychotherapeutic approaches.

198th regular session of the Government of the Republic of Slovenia
At today’s session, the Government adopted the Decree on the programmes of services under compulsory health insurance, the capacities required for their implementation, and the scope of funding for 2026. The Government also granted the Municipality of Novo mesto consent to prepare a detailed municipal spatial plan within the area of the national spatial plan adopted by the Decree on the location plan for the Hrastje–Lešnica motorway section.

Since the onset of tensions in global energy markets, the Government has been closely monitoring developments and has taken measures to ensure that fuel storage facilities remain adequately stocked. However, developments over the past two days have required the Government to intervene more directly in the logistics infrastructure. The Government will further reduce duties, thus mitigating the increase in the prices of petroleum products for the next 14-day period, as such an increase cannot be avoided due to the conflict in the Middle East. Without this intervention, there would be a price increase of approximately 26 cents per litre for diesel and fuel oil, and a price increase of approximately 18 cents per litre for petrol.

189th Regular Session of the Government of the Republic of Slovenia
At today’s session, the Government of the Republic of Slovenia took note of information on the implementation of the provisions of the Weapons Act, which introduced the possibility for holders to surrender weapons or ammunition possessed without a valid firearms licence. At today's session, the Government adopted the proposed Promotion of the Competitiveness and Decarbonisation of Electro-Intensive Companies Act and the proposed amendments to the acts regulating spatial planning, mining, nuclear damage liability, road tolling and accessibility of products and services for people with disabilities. It also approved the proposal for an Act on International Treaties and Other International Acts.
