Prime Minister Robert Golob attended the Tomorrow Conference – Public Administration: Trends, Development Opportunities and Challenges, the main annual event of the Ministry of Public Administration, dedicated to the discussion on the future of Slovenia's public administration.

The Development Council of the cohesion region Zahodna Slovenija confirmed the starting points for the second amendment to Slovenia’s EU Cohesion Policy Programme 2021-2027. The Ministry of Cohesion and Regional Development has thus been given the green light to prepare the final document in both cohesion regions.

The Archives of the Republic of Slovenia reached the pinnacle of its anniversary celebrations with a special commemorative ceremony, held to mark its 80 years of operation as an independent institution. The event took place at the National Gallery in Ljubljana.

On Friday, 7th November 2025, the Republic of Slovenia (“Slovenia”), rated A3 (positive) by Moody’s / AA (stable) by S&P / A+ (stable) by Fitch / AA- (stable) by JCR, successfully priced a JPY31.0bn 3-year fixed rate senior unsecured bond, marking the first Samurai Bond issued by a CEE sovereign this year. Following a highly successful inaugural Social Samurai offering last year, Slovenia has established a strong footprint in the Japanese market. Daiwa, Mizuho, Nomura and SMBC Nikko jointly led the offering.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Tanja Fajon is in Belém, Brazil, attending the Leaders' Summit of the 30th session of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP30). On the opening day of the summit, world leaders once again called for greater global ambition in mitigating and adapting to climate change, as well as for the mobilisation of adequate financing for climate action.

Prime Minister Robert Golob issued a statement to the media regarding the Šutar Act, which was approved at today’s Government session.

At today’s session, the Government adopted the Draft Act on Measures to Ensure Public Safety (Šutar Act), which aims to strengthen security across the country. It also approved the Draft Juvenile Criminal Justice Act and the amendments to the Minor Offences Act, the Probation Act, and the Slovenian Intelligence and Security Agency Act. Furthermore, the Government decided that the Slovenian Armed Forces will assist the Police in the broader protection of the national border.

Prime Minister Robert Golob attended a gala celebration at the University Medical Centre Ljubljana (UMCL) marking the 50th anniversary of the opening of the modern main building of the UMCL and the 240th anniversary of the establishment of the first Civic Hospital in Ljubljana.

Peter Japelj, Director-General of the Directorate for Economic, Cultural and Scientific Diplomacy at the Slovenian Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, co-chaired the 15th meeting of the Slovenian-Chinese Joint Commission for Economic Cooperation in Shanghai. On the Chinese side, the meeting was co-chaired by Yu Yuantang, Director General of the European Affairs Department at China’s Ministry of Commerce.

The Development Council of the cohesion region Vzhodna Slovenija confirmed the starting points for the amendment to Slovenia’s EU Cohesion Policy Programme 2021-2027. The amended document was presented at today’s meeting in Maribor by the team from the Ministry of Cohesion and Regional Development, led by State Secretaries Marko Koprivc and Srečko Đurov.

State Secretary Neva Grašič attended the 14th annual meeting of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region (EUSDR) foreign ministers in Sarajevo. The meeting focused on bringing the Western Balkan countries closer to the EU. This priority was at the top of the agenda already during Slovenia's 2023 EUSDR Presidency.

Slovenia welcomes the 2025 Enlargement Package and believes that enlargement will further strengthen the EU. Enlargement with the Western Balkans and Eastern Europe is not only in the interests of the EU and its new member states, but also a geostrategic necessity. Slovenia remains committed to supporting candidate and potential candidate countries on their path towards EU membership. A clear European perspective is a key driver for continued reform efforts.

On 4 and 5 November 2025, the Slovenian Water Agency (DRSV) hosted the international conference “Water Management in the Digital Age: Opportunities and Challenges” in Portorož. The conference brought together experts from Slovenia and abroad to share best practices, the latest trends, and modern technologies, as well as discuss the current challenges in the digitalisation of procedures in the field of water management.

The EU Delegation to the United States has opened the first of three calls for applications to the Transatlantic Rising Stars Project, an EU-funded cross-cultural initiative which fosters cultural links and creative collaboration between Europe and the United States.

During the visit of the Bavarian State Minister for European and International Affairs, Eric Beißwenger, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Tanja Fajon welcomed the continued strengthening of relations between Slovenia and Bavaria. She encouraged further Bavarian investment in Slovenia, particularly in high-value sectors. The two Ministers also discussed the importance of EU enlargement to include the Western Balkans.

The Archivalia of the Month section features the Archivalia of the month of November, a which presents an interesting yet always relevant question about the level of salary and relationships between colleagues. The story takes us to the end of the 19th century and introduces the troubles of the 'provincial' archivist Anton Koblar in his struggle for fair pay, raising the question of how much the care for cultural heritage is worth in reality. Ambassador Franci But, Special Envoy for Africa at the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, announced Slovenia's contribution of 1.46 million euros for humanitarian and development projects in Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda in the 2026–2028 term at today's Conference for Peace and Prosperity in the Great Lakes Region in Paris.

Minister Tanja Fajon concluded her visit to Ukraine with a meeting with her host, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha. “Slovenia stands by Ukraine — not only in words but through concrete action,” she said. During the visit, she signed an agreement on technical and financial cooperation, providing a firm basis for a long-term partnership in Ukraine's reconstruction and development.

At the initiative of Prime Minister Robert Golob, the President of the Republic of Slovenia, Nataša Pirc Musar, and the Prime Minister met today. The Prime Minister briefed the President in detail on the Government’s proposed measures following Saturday’s tragic attack in Novo mesto.

Slovenia is actively contributing to the commemoration of the 25th anniversary of the adoption of UN Security Council Resolution 1325 (2000) on Women, Peace and Security. This week, the Government adopted a new action plan for this area. Women, peace and security are one of the priority areas of Slovenia's membership in the UN Security Council. Slovenia systematically and comprehensively includes women and gender perspectives in the work of relevant international forums.

The Ministry of Cohesion and Regional Development has approved EU funding for the pharmacy extension to building C of the Slovenj Gradec general hospital, which will improve spaces for hospital pharmacy activities and high-quality, safe patient care. The European Regional Development Fund will contribute €3.05 million to the €3.64 million project.

The Ministry of Cohesion and Regional Development has approved EU funding for the Satellite Emergency Centre at the Litija Community Health Centre. The project covers the construction of modern emergency medical facilities, enhancing the accessibility and quality of healthcare services. The European Regional Development Fund will contribute €1.33 million to the €4.7 million project.

During her working visit to Ukraine, Minister Tanja Fajon visited humanitarian and development projects supported by Slovenia with official development assistance funds and opened a foster home for ten Ukrainian children. During the rest of her visit, which is taking place amid intense diplomatic efforts to end the war, she will meet with her host, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha.

The Ministry of Cohesion and Regional Development has approved EU funding for the project Let’s enter the digital space - VAIKARDD. The project, implemented by the Surveying and Mapping Authority of the Republic of Slovenia, is worth over €9 million and will receive €5.3 million of European Regional Development Fund support.

The Celje Exhibition Centre is currently hosting SIDEC 2025, the region's leading event in the field of defence, security, and advanced technologies. Through this event, the Ministry of Defence and the Slovenian Defence Industry Cluster are promoting Slovenian industry internationally. In Vienna, at a meeting with Austrian Minister for European and International Affairs Beate Meinl-Reisinger, Minister Tanja Fajon expressed her satisfaction with the publication of the report on the events at the Peršman Homestead, following almost three months of waiting, and conveyed Slovenia’s expectation that Austria would take swift and appropriate action based on the report’s recommendations.

The Government of the Republic of Slovenia adopted the draft Act on Measures to Optimise Certain Procedures at Centres for Social Work and Homes for the Elderly upon the Introduction of the New Long-Term Care System and the draft Act on Protective Measures against Strategic Lawsuits against Public Participation (SLAPP). The Government also approved amendments to the Public Finance Act.

The Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia will be closed on Friday, 31 October 2025, in observance of Reformation Day.

On 22 October 2025, State Secretary Neva Grašič represented Slovenia at the 11th Berlin Process Summit, hosted by the United Kingdom in London. The Summit brought together leaders and ministers from EU member states and Western Balkan countries to discuss security, migration, economic growth, cooperation and the European perspective of the Western Balkans.

Today, the Government took note of the implementation of the Recovery and Resilience Plan (RRP) and approved a proposal for its fourth amendment, which the Office of the Republic of Slovenia for Recovery and Resilience will submit, together with all supporting documents, to Brussels for formal consideration.
