Visit of a Delegation of workers’ councils from Slovenian Companies to Denmark

In a discussion with the Deputy Director of the Danish Chamber of Commerce, Jesper Østergaard Bocianski, the delegation gained insight into the Danish business model, which is based on close cooperation between trade unions and employers’ associations, as well as the important role of collective agreements. The exchange provided an opportunity to compare different approaches and discuss the challenges and opportunities arising from this model.

 As part of the visit, the delegation also learned about the work of the Embassy in the economic field and its activities aimed at strengthening economic cooperation between Slovenia and the wider Nordic region.

The programme also included meetings with representatives of trade unions from different parts of the Danish labour market, as well as with a representative of the maritime industry. These meetings gave the delegation a direct insight into the role of trade unions and other labour market stakeholders, and their cooperation across different sectors of the Danish economy.

The visit enabled the delegation to exchange experiences and gain first-hand insight into the Danish labour and business environment, while also contributing to stronger professional links between Slovenian and Danish partners.
