As part of the project, 2.64 hectares of green space in southwestern Maribor, along the Pekrski potok stream, will be renovated. The project includes the development of green park areas with walking and biking paths, a footbridge over the stream, a bike course, and areas for socialising, play, sports and recreation, equipped with playgrounds and outdoor fitness equipment, as well as other urban facilities.

The establishment of this new public green infrastructure will ensure a higher quality of life for residents, including through improved air quality.

The project is implemented under Slovenia’s EU Cohesion Policy Programme 2021-2027 and is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund.

European Regional Development Fund contribution to the project, with a total value of €3,245,565.07, stands at €2,540,818.04. The beneficiary of the funds is the Urban Municipality of Maribor.
