Quality of documentation as a key factor in process efficiency

Slovenian Water Agency participated in the consultation “Municipal Spatial Plans – (Lost) Opportunities and Risks for the Development of Local Communities and Slovenia,” organized by the State Council of the Republic of Slovenia and the Dr. Anton Trstenjak Foundation. The expert discussion highlighted that high-quality and complete documentation is one of the key factors for the efficient conduct of spatial and administrative procedures. Properly prepared documents contribute to faster processing of applications, fewer complications, and better coordination between investors, designers, and competent institutions.

Operation “Reducing flood risk in the Savinja River Basin – Phase 1” underway

Slovenian Water Agency is implementing a project to reduce flood risk in the Savinja River Basin, co-financed by the European Union from the European Regional Development Fund and the Republic of Slovenia. Measures include riverbed regulation of the Savinja river, construction and rehabilitation of embankments, flood protection walls and improved drainage in the areas of Braslovče, Polzela, and Laško. The aim of the project is greater protection of residents, infrastructure and the environment from floods, as well as increased resilience of the area to climate change.

Water through children’s eyes: understanding the future starts with the youngest

On the occasion of World Earth Day, Slovenian Water Agency highlighted the importance of water as a fundamental natural resource affecting health, safety and quality of life. This understanding was vividly expressed by pupils of the Jurij Vega Primary School Moravče, who created artwork on the relationship between water and Earth under the mentorship of teacher Tanja Apšner for World Water Day. The project “Water through children’s eyes” involves the youngest in learning about aquatic environments and raising awareness of responsible water use and nature protection. The aim was to strengthen understanding of sustainable water management and the importance of climate challenges for society’s future.
