Government takes note of the implementation of the Recovery and Resilience Plan
To date, Slovenia has received the maximum possible disbursement for all payment requests it has submitted to Brussels under the Recovery and Resilience Plan (RRP), having fulfilled all related milestones and targets. As of today, Slovenia has received EUR 1.54 billion of the available funding, of which EUR 1.07 billion are grants and EUR 0.47 billion are loans. Since the start of the RRP in 2021 and up to 20 March 2026, the State has disbursed almost EUR 1.4 billion to final recipients. In 2026 alone, EUR 87.9 million has been disbursed.
Slovenia is currently awaiting the payment of the fifth payment request in the expected amount of just over EUR 230 million, which the European Commission positively assessed earlier this month. The country is also awaiting the approval of the fifth amendment to the RRP, which was positively assessed by the European Commission today and is expected to be considered by the competent Council of the European Union in April.
Following the approval of the fifth payment request, Slovenia will have officially fulfilled 107 milestones and targets under five completed payment requests.
The fifth amendment to the RRP is key to the submission of the next, sixth payment request, which will include the eighth instalment of grants. Under this amendment, one target is transferred from the ninth to the eighth instalment of grants, the implementation deadlines for three targets are extended, and the description of one milestone and one target is simplified. In agreement with the European Commission and in order to expedite procedures at the level of the European Union, Slovenia will submit the sixth payment request to Brussels by the end of March.
Accordingly, today the Government instructed the Office of the Republic of Slovenia for Recovery and Resilience to submit the sixth payment request to the European Commission, including the eighth instalment of grants in the total gross amount of EUR 89.53 million, or EUR 41 million net, taking into account the final clearance of pre-financing received. According to the competent ministries, all 15 milestones and targets related to this instalment have been fulfilled.
The final, seventh payment request, which will include the ninth instalment of grants and the fourth instalment of loans, must be submitted by Slovenia to Brussels no later than 30 September 2026.
