Slovenian Embassy showcased bees at the Kids Euro Fest festival in Washington D.C.
Ambassador Iztok Mirošič attended the Kids Euro Fest festival on October 18, 2025, which was organized by the Delegation of the European Union (EU) to the United States together with its member states. In addition to Slovenia and the EU Delegation to the United States, the festival was attended by 11 other EU member states and Ukraine.

At the one-day children's festival the Slovenian Embassy focused on showcasing the importance of bees and the heritage of beekeeping in Slovenia. We collaborated with local beekeepers, who introduced live bees to the children and also showed how they behave in the hive and how to care for them. The beekeepers also talked about the importance of bees for biodiversity and their role in pollination.
Kids loved tasting potica and participating in coloring the paper beehive panels and assembling the Slovenian cardboard beehive.
