Proposed amendment to the Health Care and Health Insurance Act for a more sustainable healthcare system
At today's correspondence session of the Government, a proposed Act Amending the Health Care and Health Insurance Act (ZZVZZ) was adopted, representing one of the key legislative steps in the implementation of the Recovery and Resilience Plan.
The proposed Act introduces significant changes in the areas of financing, management and supervision in the healthcare system, with the clear aim of increasing accessibility, improving financial sustainability and strengthening the role of the Health Insurance Institute of Slovenia (ZZZS) as an active buyer of healthcare services.
All proposed changes strengthen the resilience of the healthcare system to extraordinary circumstances, improve its coordination and enable stable, flexible financing. With greater professionalisation, simplified procedures and enhanced supervision, the Act ensures the effective functioning of the system, strengthens user confidence and protects the interests of insured persons and society at large.
