Awarding of the Italian Decoration to Mr. Dovgan from Ljubljana Prison

The official motivation for the award states: “In his institutional role, as well as in his capacity as an educational advisor, Mr. Dovgan has for many years provided constant and heartfelt support to Italian citizens serving prison sentences in Slovenia. In every situation, he has shown dedication and commitment in listening to vulnerable individuals, contributing with professionalism and humanity to the establishment of contacts between prisoners, local authorities, and the Embassy of Italy in Ljubljana. In order to assist Italian citizens and safeguard their rights, he has often gone beyond his official duties. For his merits and for his genuine and deeply rooted connection with Italy and its citizens, Mr. Fulvio Dovgan is hereby awarded the Order of the Star of Italy, in the rank of Knight.”

The ceremony was also attended by colleagues, including Mr. Goran Narić, Director of Ljubljana Prison, and Mr. Denis Perše, Director-General of the Slovenian Prison Administration.

We sincerely congratulate our colleague, who regards his role as an educator not merely as a profession but as a vocation carried out with heart and dedication, on receiving this distinguished decoration.
