Minister of Foreign Affairs Tanja Fajon addressed more than 100 local staff members from almost all diplomatic missions and consular posts of the Republic of Slovenia, who are attending their first ever consultation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Minister Fajon thanked the staff for their dedicated work at the diplomatic missions and consular posts and greeted them warmly. "You are always welcome in this institution that guides the work of all embassies and consular posts. Today's visit is a special opportunity to meet the staff and expand our circle of colleagues and friends," the Minister said.

"Your support to our ambassadors and diplomats is invaluable. You are a solid foundation of any embassy, especially with your institutional memory and knowledge required to make our diplomacy work well in the receiving state. I am confident that after this meeting, cooperation will be much easier for all of us," the Minister declared.

Over the two days, the local staff will learn more about the different areas of work of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, i.e. consular operations, economic, public and cultural diplomacy, administration, financial management and diplomatic protocol, depending on the tasks they perform at the diplomatic missions and consular posts.

Tomorrow, at the conclusion of the event, they will be addressed by the Acting Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Renata Cvelbar Bek.
