State Secretaries Štucin and Navarro assessed the bilateral relations between Slovenia and Spain as friendly, intensive and diversified. They concurred that the two countries share common views on a number of topical and international issues. In their discussion on economic cooperation, they noted with particular satisfaction that trade (imports and exports) between the two countries has increased to 1.1 billion euros, despite the COVID-19 pandemic. The two State Secretaries also exchanged views on the current situation in the Western Balkans, the Mediterranean, the EU and beyond.

This year, Slovenia and Spain are celebrating the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.
