Joe Valencic, a Slovenian-American from Cleveland, inducted into the Hall of Fame

Consulate General of the Republic of Slovenia in Cleveland congratulates Joe Valencic on his induction into the Hall of Fame on Tuesday, June 7, 2022. He is the seventh Slovenian-American to be awarded this honor.

He is the founder of the National Cleveland-Style Polka Hall of Fame, master of ceremonies and promoter of music and cultural events, a radio show host on a local radio station, and the president of the Cleveland Federation of Lodges of the Slovene National Benefit Society. He also represents Slovenians in the United States on the international advisory board of Slovenia’s Office for Slovenes Abroad. According to the International Hall of Fame, his deep knowledge of history, music, films, gastronomy, travel, traditions, and more has made him one of the most prominent voices among the Slovenians in America.
