Slovenian choir Korotan from Clevelanda celebrating its 70th anniversary
Yesterday in the crowded hall of the Slovenian National Home the 70th anniversary of the Slovenian choir from Cleveland Korotan was marked by a magnificent and emotional concert, led by conductor Janez Sršen.
In the performance of the cantata "Our blessed Land" the symphony orchestra, led by the conductor of Slovenian origin from Hawaii J. Štepec joined the choir
The Office for Slovenes Abroad awarded Korotan with a special recognition for its long-term preservation of Slovenian songs and words, and above all for its invaluable contribution to the preservation of Slovene identity among her compatriots in Ohio and the United States. The award was presented by Consul General Alenka Jerak on behalf of the Minister for Slovenians Abroad Dr. Helena Jaklitsch.
