Consulate General celebrates the 30th anniversary of the American recognition of Slovenia as an independent state with a visit to the Statehouse in Columbus

Today was a historic day for Slovenia in Ohio. The Consulate General celebrated tomorrow's 30th Anniversary of the American recognition of Slovenia as independent state in the Statehouse in Columbus:

The day started with the Recognition of the General Assembly of the State Ohio from Minority Leader State Senator Kenny Yuko on the Senate floor, which was followed by a meeting with the Ohio Governor, Honorable Mike DeWine. 

Consul General Alenka Jerak also met the President of the Senate Matt Huffman, as well as Senate Majority and Minority Leaders - State Senators Matt Dolan, Nickie J.Antonio, Hearcel F.Craig, Cecil Thomas, Bob Peterson, Sandra R.Williams, and others.

The day concluded with the opening of the exhibition of the Slovenian Technical Museum "Us and Them without Frontiers" in the Governor's Hallway of the Statehouse with the support of Slovenian Ministry for Culture and help of Dr. Luka Zibelnik.
