The Ministry summoned the Ambassador of the Russian Federation one more time and condemned in the strongest possible terms the military attack on Ukraine

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the Ambassador of the Russian Federation Timur Eyvazov one more time.

State Secretary Stanislav Raščan has asked the Ambassador to deliver the strong condemnation of the Russian military invasion of Ukraine to his capital. Slovenia calls on the Russian Federation to respect all international legal obligations, end aggression and immediately withdraw from Ukraine. Slovenia supports new EU restrictive sanctions that, among others, target the entities involved in Russia’s illegal decision.

Military aggression against Ukraine, a sovereign state with internationally recognised state borders, is a violation of international law and a serious threat to European peace and security. The Russian Federation must take full responsibility for this unilateral decision, the damage caused and the loss of human lives.
