Political Director and Director-General Müller holds political consultations with North Macedonia

The senior officials discussed bilateral relations in the field of economic and cultural cooperation. They also presented the challenges North Macedonia is facing on its path towards the European Union and exchanged opinions on the progress of bilateral talks with Bulgaria. Political Director and Director-General Müller outlined Slovenia’s continued support for North Macedonia as it advances towards the EU, which was also well-proven through Slovenian activities during its Presidency of the Council of the EU. He also assured Slovenia’s continued active role in finding ways to drive forward and enhance the EU enlargement policy and the European future of North Macedonia.

In addition, the three senior officials also exchanged views on cooperation between the two countries in the multilateral field. The two hosts thanked their guest for Slovenia’s activities so far in the field of development cooperation, expressing their hope for further Slovenian backing. They also called for a revitalisation of cooperation on bilateral technical assistance projects in the process of EU integration. 

In the context of the consultations in Skopje, Political Director and Director-General Müller also met with the President of the National Council for European Integration Nikoloski.
