Minister Logar began his visit to Qatar with a courtesy meeting with the Emir of Qatar, Tamim Al Thani, where he stressed that friendly relations between Slovenia and Qatar had intensified recently, especially in the wake of the visit of Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani to Slovenia in November 2021.

Minister Logar and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar Al Thani agreed that there is untapped potential between the two countries, especially in various areas of economic cooperation. They also discussed regional topics, focusing on the situation in Afghanistan and Iran. They also addressed developments in Eastern Europe.

Minister Logar also outlined Slovenia’s candidacy for a non-permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council for the 2024–2025 period.
