At the meeting of the directors-general, the European Commission presented details of the situation in the area of programming funds within the new instrument for external action Global Europe (NDICI) and the fourth package of Team Europe initiatives.

The meeting was devoted to the preparations for the African Union-European Union Summit. In the discussion, the participants focused on the contribution that Team Europe initiatives can make to the implementation of three packages aimed at strengthening the partnership with Africa, i.e. the Africa-Europe investment package and two packages on health and education. Acting Director-General Jukič underscored the importance of assisting African partners for sustainable and green recovery. Team Europe initiatives will play a significant role in that regard.

The directors-general also discussed the mobility package, which will constitute an important contribution to the achievements of the European Union-African Union Summit. They also touched on Team Europe initiatives on migration, including the initiative to address the displacement situation in Afghanistan.
