React-EU grants for IT support for making an appointment to be vaccinated against Covid-19

  • Government Office for Development and European Cohesion Policy
Government Office for Development and European Cohesion Policy has approved EU funding for the project “COVID19 – IT support for making an appointment (to be vaccinated) at primary level”. The project worth EUR 1.5 million will be implemented by the Ministry of Health. Total project funding comes from the European Regional Development Fund. The project is another investment supported by React-EU under the Recovery and Resilience Facility – NextGenerationEU.

The project will result in the established single IT solution for making an appointment to be vaccinated which will ensure safety and equal treatment of patients.

With the project, the Ministry of Health will establish a unified list of persons with permanent or temporary residence in the Republic of Slovenia and persons working for employers in the Republic of Slovenia who have expressed interest to be vaccinated against Covid-19 (and to later also receive other vaccinations). The Ministry will ensure regular updates of the list with information on potential priority criteria for receiving the vaccination, and will take care of patients’ safety in the vaccination process, namely making sure that individuals also receive the second dose and that they are vaccinated in accordance with the set timeline. The Ministry will also ensure equal access for patients to particular vaccines and vaccinations, with the possibility of expressing interest to be vaccinated also by those not having a personal physician.

This is the third project funded by the React-EU initiative in the last three months. In early March, Government Office for Development and European Cohesion Policy issued a decision on financial support for the project “COVID19 – Arrangement of premises for additional capacity of the Ljubljana Nursing Hospital”, and in mid-February 2021 for the project “COVID19 – Relocation of the Department of lung diseases to University Medical Centre Maribor”.
