Minister Koritnik: "Connectivity is the heart of a successful digital transformation."

In cooperation with the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the Ministry of Public Administration organised the Regional Forum for Europe on Meaningful Connectivity on 8 and 9 March 2021. At the event, Minister of Public Administration Boštjan Koritnik, who wrote a blog post for ITU News prior to this event, held the opening address. Acting Director-General of the Information Society and Informatics Directorate Peter Grum also participated at the event's first session on the digital divide and inclusive connectivity in Europe.

Slovenia supports and encourages open debate on important topic as equal connectivity for all, inclusion of vulnerable groups and cooperation, Minister pointed out, noting that digital transformation can only be successful if it is accompanied by the trust of citizens and business.

“Connectivity has already changed many aspects of our professional and daily lives. It plays an essential role for a successful digital transformation and it brings many economic and social benefits”, said Koritnik, recalling the unexpected circumstances of the COVID-19 crisis that have given connectivity a new dimension.
