State Secretary Stanislav Raščan discusses cooperation with China during Slovenian EU Council Presidency with Vice Foreign Minister Qin Gang

Today, State Secretary Stanislav Raščan held a telephone conversation with Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China Qin Gang. They reaffirmed the positive bilateral relations and advocated for closer cooperation during the Slovenian presidency of the Council of the EU in the second half of 2021.

A special focus of their talks was the 17+1 initiative summit to be hosted by the President of the People's Republic of China, Xi Jiping, on 9 February 2021. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the summit will be held in a virtual format. The two high officials also expressed mutual interest in holding regular political consultations at the level of deputy ministers.
